It could be that you have an outdated driver that is not compatible with your Windows 10 version, or you might have to fix Realtek audio drivers which have become corrupted because of an update. With the red "x" it indicates No Audio Output Device is Installed. The sound icon on my screen varies from a red "x" to a white soundwave from one boot to the next, without any change to my software.
